Information literacy skills - Partners

Glasgow and Strathclyde Universities along with Glasgow Caledonian University will provide subject librarians for interviews to identify what ‘information literacy skills’, if any, they believe new students bring from secondary or further education. Glasgow Caledonian University and Glasgow University will also help facilitate first year student focus groups to help identify what ‘information literacy skills’, if any they bring with them to university.

North Ayrshire Council and The City of Edinburgh Council Education Resource Service will provide 5-14 framework development advice plus support piloting and testing.

Doon Academy, Govan High School, Firrhill High School and St Augustine's will support piloting and testing of the framework.

University of Abertay - we will exchange information with Abertay who have developed and implemented an Information Literacy Framework.

Learning and Teaching Scotland (LTS) – we will exchange information with LTS who currently have their own IL project ‘Learning to learn skills’ and does not want to duplicate anything we are doing

GAPS (General Academic and Professional Services) Department which is the main developer at Glasgow Caledonian University of the ICT skills programme into an integrated ICT and IL (information literacy) training programme and also the University’s leader of the University’s employability and development agenda will work with the project by incorporating its findings into the planning of ICT/IL training programme.

Scottish Further Education Unit (SFEU) - support and collaborative working plus exchange of information.

Lauder, West Lothian, Dumfries and Galloway and Stow Colleges interested in supporting the development, piloting and testing of the framework

Learndirect Scotland the development of a learning principles paper on information literacy skills advice and best practice for their branded learning centres plus a funding contribution towards the development of the framework.
