I have uploaded a PowerPoint file to my Programme/Module folder or portlet on my.caledonian and it appears as a blank screen?
This problem may occur if you are using MS Office XP. Not only will the presentation appear as a blank file but also any attempts to navigate away from this blank page will throw the user out of the portal and a new browser window will need to be opened to re-enter the site.
If you are having this problem, do not worry, it is a known issue with MS Office XP and Microsoft have provided an update which will resolve the problem. Users should visit the following URL http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q307841 and follow the instructions provided to download "Office XP Service Pack II".
If you are having trouble with this and need an immediate fix, the problem can be avoided by downloading the PowerPoint document before opening it. This can be done by right clicking in the file and selecting 'Save Target As....'. A dialogue box will then appear asking where on your hard disk you would like to save the file. The file should then open from this location without difficulty
