Staff - Passwords
If you are having trouble logging in to any of the University systems make sure you have read the following checklist before registering a fault. Remember User names and passwords are often case sensitive!
Check <CAPS LOCK> is off.
Check you are using the correct password. Have you changed your password recently?
Are you connecting to your domain? Or are you logging onto the local box (this computer) instead of the domain?
If you have tried to log in incorrectly five times the system will automatically lock you out. You will have to provide proof of identification before your account can be unlocked by IT Staff. The simplest method of providing proof of identity is to set up a “Security Word” under the ME(Staff) tab on the My Caledonian portal. A successful challenge on the Security Word will be accepted as proof of identity.
Guides
Information Service Desk staff are able to reset passwords immediately for Portal, Blackboard and the Caledonian Domain (once proof of identity has been verified). If you require any of these services please call x1234.
