Can I make a one off international call?

International call access has only been granted to certain users as authorised by a School Manager (or higher).

However it is recognised that some staff occasionally require to make international calls here are the following steps for those users:-

  1. Request an e-mail from your School Manager, HoD, or Dean authorising you to make an international call;
  2. Contact the switchboard to request an international call – they will ask you to forward the authorisation e-mail and to include the number you wish to call;
  3. On receipt of the e-mail, the switchboard will place the call for you and transfer the call to your extension when contact is made;
  4. At the end of the call, hang up.

Your call request will be logged by the switchboard.

Please note:-

  • If you do not forward an e-mail of authorisation then the switchboard will refuse your request;
  • If you keep forwarding the same e-mail of authorisation then the switchboard will refuse your request and advise the Telephone Systems Manager;
  • If you find you need International access on a regular basis then;
    • log a call with the Information Service Desk requesting International access;
    • request your School Manager, HoD, or Dean to send an e-mail of authorisation directly to the Information Service Desk quoting the call reference in the subject line;
    • The Information Service Desk will advise you when the access has been granted.
