The Effective Learning Service
has provided most of the information for this new web site with
input from the Library,
the Disability Advisers and
Academic Registry.
It’s the latest from the Student
Access to Services Programme and aims to support students all
the way through their coursework from finding information in the
library, taking notes and reading effectively to citing references
and compiling their bibliographies. It has sections on essays, reports
and presentations, and also on various aspects of academic writing.
Regulations relevant to coursework are covered and an extensive
Help section includes time management, motivation and coping with
stress, as well as full contact details.
We would also appreciate feedback on all aspects of the site. Contact

More electronic journal articles at your
fingertips
The university has increased its ejournal portfolio by 2,200 titles
for 2004. We have new deals for Wiley Interscience, Cambridge University
Press, Oxford University Press and a collection from learned publishers
including the Royal Society, British Psychological Society and the
Institute of Chemical Engineers. In addition we have added new titles
for Blackwell Science, Elsevier, Springer Verlag and Kluwer Academic
Press.
Our journal portfolio now totals 9,500 titles either in print or
online, which means that our staff and students have access to millions
of journal articles on and off campus. All titles are being added
to the library catalogue and
e-journal web pages.
Please contact the library if you would like more information.
